Are we dog-friendly? Do we provide hairdryers? If you’re considering staying at Cherrygarth holiday cottages, please take a look.

Are you dog-friendly?

Yes, we welcome dogs or indeed any pets. There is an additional charge of £5 per night per animal.

Do you provide hairdryers?

Yes, every bedroom has a hairdryer in the chest of drawers.

Does an infant in a cot count as a guest?

No, infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure.

Do you provide bed linen and towels?

Yes, bed linen, bath towels and hand towels are provided for guests. However, if you’re planning on heading to the coast, please bring your own beach towels.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Please arrive after 4pm and depart by 10am. We employ a key safe so late night arrivals or early mornings are not a problem.

Do you have internet?

Yes, we have free wireless internet access. However multiple devices using it can make download times slow.

What is mobile reception like?

Fryton is in the countryside so mobile reception can be patchy. Stepping outside can improve the signal.

What is there to do or visit in the area?

Fryton is in a prime location to enjoy the local Howardian Hills and attractions such as Castle Howard. We’ve gathered together recommendations of local eateries, great days out and shopping destinations in our Local area section.

What sort of central heating do Cherrygarth Cottages use?

Both cottages and the leisure suite are heated by an eco-friendly wood pellet boiler through our underfloor central heating system.

Are fuel costs included?

Electricity and gas are included in the letting price. The logs for the wood burners are provided under a fair usage policy.

When is housekeeping provided?

If you stay more than nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change is included in the price.

Do you have any equipment for small children and babies?

We have two travel cots (with linen), a high chair and safety gates available for each property. Please request these when you book.

Do you provide a welcome pack?

We provide a welcome hamper packed with Yorkshire treats to help you celebrate the start of your stay at Cherrygarth Cottages. These include eggs, a selection of jams, Yorkshire Tea, Taylors of Harrogate coffee and a delicious cake, perfect to enjoy with that first cup of tea. Or maybe you’ll crack open the complimentary bottle of bubbly instead, and start as you mean to go on? You are on holiday after all!

Do you provide toiletries?

Yes, we want our guests to feel as pampered as possible. We therefore provide a selection of luxurious Molton Brown toiletries for you to indulge in.

What about household supplies?

So you can relax from the start of your holiday, our cottages include all the essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap and washing powder.

Can we get takeaways?

Yes, we have details of available takeaway menus in each cottage’s information pack.

Arrival and car parking facilities

There is ample parking for both cottages on a flat smooth tarmac drive, with a turning bay to be left clear. Luggage can be unloaded near the gate.

The gateway into the courtyard is 148cm wide with a catch 122cm high. A slight paved slope of 1:30 leads to the cottages. The path to The Stables is 110cm wide with a slightly uneven surface. Both cottages have key safes 125cm high, located near their respective door.

The thinnest width of the path around the courtyard garden is 110cm.

Public transport

The nearest bus stop is at the top of the lane around 300m away.

The nearest train station is seven miles away at Malton and has a taxi rank. 1st Care Travel taxis can transport wheelchairs. You can reach them on 07855 746463

Grocery shopping

Supermarkets will deliver online shopping directly to our cottages. Ready prepared meals can be arranged through Fryton Catering.

We provide a welcome hamper to all guests.

The local village store is a one mile walk away.

Main entrance and reception

There are two doors into The Hay Barn both 89cm wide (no step). The first door leads to the dining room, the second into the lounge.

The door into The Stables is 100cm wide with a 17cm step leading into the kitchen.

There is a weather board of 5mm across the length of the threshold of the doors.

W.C. facilities

All bedrooms are ensuite. There are two bedrooms with ground floor ensuite bathrooms in The Hay Barn. Both bathrooms are on the ground floor in The Stables.

There is a toilet in the leisure area for general use with a hand basin.

Bedrooms

In The Stables: Two ground-floor bedrooms with ensuites, both single level 80cm doorways. Both have 6ft beds that can be split. The first bedroom has carpet flooring, the second has wooden floorboards. The first ensuite has toilet, basin and walk in shower 92cm opening with 6cm lip. Shower controls 105cm high. The second ensuite has a jacuzzi bath 62cm high, toilet and basin with 100cm /150cm of free space.

The Hay Barn: Two bedrooms with ground-floor ensuites. Two bedrooms with mezzanine ensuites.

Bedroom 1: 82cm door 13cm step – a wooden ramp can be provided. 6ft bed can be split into singles. Walk-in shower 94cm wide, shower controls 110cm high, dark granite walls and floor. Toilet seat 43cm high, space to right 23cm.

Bedrooms 2 and 3: 82cm doors, carpet floors, 6ft bed can be split into singles, mezzanine bathrooms up carpeted stairs 87cm wide, 13 steps 19cm high. Free standing bath, toilet and basin.

Bedroom 4: 82cm door and a 6ft double bed that can be split into singles. Carpet floor, same floor bathroom with shower, jacuzzi bath, toilet and basin.

The Hay Barn: Dining room and lounge

Dining room: has 100cm doorway into kitchen.

Table: legs on each corner, 68cm floor to lowest point (underside) 278cm long by 120 cm wide

Free space between table and walls is 95cm either side and 3m to end.

Limestone flag floor (slightly uneven).

Lounge: leather L-shaped settee, 50cm space to hearth, leather armchair with foot stool. Large flat screen TV, CD, DVD with Bose surround sound system with speakers also in dining room.

Self-Catering kitchens

The Stables: 90cm tall worktop.

The Hay Barn: 90cm tall worktop, side open oven door 72cm high, lowest shelf 42cm. At least 110cm free space between all furniture and worktops. Smooth flag flooring. Larder fridge freezer, highest shelf 160cm, lowest drawer 44cm.

Laundry

Standard size washer drier (front loading) provided in The Hay Barn kitchen. There is a front loading washing machine in The Stables kitchen.

Treatment room/s

All at ground level with a 15.5cm high step at entrance.

The door is 81cm wide.

Manoeuvrability space in the room: 122cm/350cm

Leisure facilities

All leisure facilities are on one floor at ground level. 8cm high step at entrance.

Sauna – 9cm ledge at the entrance to the sauna. There is fixed seating inside (40cm high).

The mini-gym – 130cm wide door at the entrance, features rowing machine, cross trainer, exercise bike, running machine and weights.
Games Room – 82cm wide door at the entrance. Features pool table, table tennis, table football and TV with Wii console.

Connecting Relaxation Room – 95cm door at the entrance. There are 4 reclining sun loungers.

Hot tubs

The six person hot tub for The Hay Barn has built-in seating. It is 72cm high with 2 steps. The first is 4cm high, the second is 15.5cm high.

The four person hot tub for The Stables has built-in seating. It is 72cm high with 2 steps. The first is 4cm high, the second is 15.5cm high.
